For the stay my wife earned 997 points for the room plus 498 points for her platinum status, earned by carrying the IHG credit card. The total was $118.59 with all of the taxes and fees included. I booked the room for a rate of $99.64 for a Friday night. The hotel usually hovers around the $100 mark rarely reaching the $200 level, the price level when using points would make sense. The hotel has an award price of 30,000 IHG points which will almost never be a good use of points here. It was nice to stay in something that wasn’t a simple rectangle protruding into the sky. I found the quaintness of the design pleasing. It is a trendier, more hip brand in the IHG portfolio.
The Indigo brand was launched by IHG in an attempt to compete with SPG’s W hotels and Hyatts Andaz properties. This location actually felt like you were staying at someone’s cottage or summer house. The brand started in 2004 and it has more of a boutique feel. This was my first time staying at a Hotel Indigo and I came away impressed.
